This book essentially tells me many soft skills I should have as a developer. One point is a good developer should have a blog, which I agree with it a lot. That’s why I want to create my blog today and share my feeling after finishing reading this book.

  • Work

There are some points of view I have never thought about before:

— When I was a student, I don’t consider social skill is a very important thing. However, many times a good relationship with other people will make things easier.

— Which kind of developer am I

— Big/Middle/Small size of companies and they are suitable for different people.

  • Sell yourself

— Blog for sharing technical details and personal point of view

— Train presentation skill by doing presentation, report, and training

  • Study

— It is important for a developer to keep life-long learning

— To find a mentor and to be a mentor, teaching and learning will help one understand knowledge better.

— Know your weakness and try to improve it but and doing things repeatedly

— Summary is important for studying. Without a summary, the knowledge is not systematic and it is not really absorbed by you.

  • Productivity

— Don’t use time as a measure for your productivity, but how many things you have done. One would get more satisfaction when seeing how many things have been finished after one week/month.

  • Exercises

— You can do more things with a healthy body.

— Try to stand more
