This book essentially tells me many soft skills I should have as a developer. One point is a good developer should have a blog, which I agree with it a lot. That’s why I want to create my blog today and share my feeling after finishing reading this book.
- Work
There are some points of view I have never thought about before:
— When I was a student, I don’t consider social skill is a very important thing. However, many times a good relationship with other people will make things easier.
— Which kind of developer am I
— Big/Middle/Small size of companies and they are suitable for different people.
- Sell yourself
— Blog for sharing technical details and personal point of view
— Train presentation skill by doing presentation, report, and training
- Study
— It is important for a developer to keep life-long learning
— To find a mentor and to be a mentor, teaching and learning will help one understand knowledge better.
— Know your weakness and try to improve it but and doing things repeatedly
— Summary is important for studying. Without a summary, the knowledge is not systematic and it is not really absorbed by you.
- Productivity
— Don’t use time as a measure for your productivity, but how many things you have done. One would get more satisfaction when seeing how many things have been finished after one week/month.
- Exercises
— You can do more things with a healthy body.
— Try to stand more
